it's so easy to get caught up with everything that's wrong, obsessing about this, that and the other thing. But remembering to also spend time thinking about - or even obsessing about - the good things that happened, the beauty you saw, can make a profound difference in the way you approach life. Long time ago, I have a tarot card reading - quite a crappy one, actually - but it changed the way I looked at life. The psychic (okay, alleged psychic) pulled the card called the Five of Cups. In it, a man stood by a river looking down that two broken cups at his feet. Behind him, there were three whole cups. She explained that this card was about looking at what you have, not to add what you don't have. Sometimes, it's easier than others, but I try to remember this every day. Because when you look at what you have, gratitude comes natural. And with gratitude comes joy and hope, both essential to living with RA.

I enjoy looking back over my year also and finding all the good that came.  For me, this was a good year with RA and I have a lot to be thankful for.  Other years have definitely been more difficult with RA, yet there was still lots of good to be found.

It sounds like your year is starting off on a positive note.  Thanks for sharing with us and encouraging us to look for our own positives.  Happy holidays and enjoy 2012!
