Just checking in :)

Hi All,
It has been a long while since I've been here so I thought I'd check in. Things are going pretty good for the most part. I had a minor setback in March when I caught a bad cold (after going home to WA for a visit) and had to stop my Humira and Methotrexate for a couple weeks. I sure noticed a difference, the swelling/pain/stiffness came on quickly. But I'm back on the meds now and feeling much better. I've been trying to exercise...

Book about RA

Me again, I wanted to share something else with those of you have RA. While the internet has a wealth of info regarding RA and is very helpful, I was interested in finding a book about it (and not just a textbook) but something I could really relate to. I found a great one at Barnes & Noble called "THE FIRST YEAR Rheumatoid Arthritis: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed". The author is a patient-expert who was diagnosed in 1993,...

Humira support website

Hi all, I wanted to share a website that is very helpful if you take Humira. Travelluver told me about it and I'm so glad this person did! It's free to sign up... you get step-by-step video and written instructions for both the Humira pen and syringe, 24/7 nurse phone support, medication reminders, insurance info, a free starter kit and a free sharp's container for disposal... postage free! I wish my Rheumy would've told me about this site...

Humira for the first time

Hello everyone. It has been awhile since I've logged on... my husband and I have been preparing for his upcoming deployment. My Rheumatologist started me on Humira January 13th, he gave me my first shot in his office. Today is the day for my next dose and giving it to myself for the first time. I have to admit, I am a worrier. I don't necessarily have a big fear of needles but the idea of giving myself a shot is unpleasant. That and the fact it...

Thankful for the RA community!

I just wanted to say how glad I am to have found this online community! While my husband and family are supportive, it's easier to talk with people who have RA and know what I'm going through. I like my rheumatologist and feel confident he is giving me good care but I have so many questions when it's time to see him that I feel rushed to discuss them all in the time we have. I can relate to people here and feel for what is happening. Right...
