Be Thankful for Rheumatoid Arthritis Support This Thanksgiving
All of us here at MyRACentral would like to take this opportunity to wish our community a very happy Thanksgiving! May your turkey be moist, your stuffing delicious and your pies the perfect complement to wonderful meal!
Much of the time, our community is focused on helping each other solve the problems that come with a diagnosis of RA - we all benefit from each other's expertise and live better lives because of it. Around this time of year, it's traditional to take some time to think about life from a slightly different perspective, remembering all the reasons to be thankful. And there are so many.
There's the choice in medication that helps so many live meaningful, productive lives in a way that was unheard of in the past and give others not quite there yet the hope that soon, they will come out of the dark, as well. There's the changes in legislation that help people with chronic illnesses continue to work, the invention of stylish shoes that are also comfortable and the people who love us, standing by our sides in our fight to live well with RA. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
For me, this site, our MyRACentral community is on the short list of things I'm thankful for. We come together, separate people far apart and we care, making friends out of strangers, creating a safety net of invisible hands that are here to catch us when we despair, share a laugh about the ridiculousness that is the medical system and a chat when we feel alone. You are a gift every day and for that, I'm thankful.
What makes you thankful this holiday?
