Probably will never happen, but I really wish we could eliminate the word "arthritis" in this disease.  That word directs people immediately to osteoarthritis and it is very difficult to move them off of that picture.  Very frustrating, I usually just drop the whole topic and move on -- not enough energy, physical or emotional, to attempt to develop some level of understanding.   Perhaps "Rheumatoid autoimmune disease." RAD.

I think this is a super idea.  Truly I believe that others want to understand our illness but its hard when you appear physically normal.  Put on gloves, ace wraps, use crutches and most understand something is going on.  But struggling with doors, slow walking, sitting slowy just to name a few struggles of mine and your just old.  Yeah I get the old age is causing me to slow down!!! So I think this is a good idea and I hope that the responses are good. Have a blessed day.Smile Susan
