The Olympics are starting in a few days and I've been of two minds about whether to watch the Games. On the one hand, there is joy to be found in watching people bursting with health and ability going full-throttle for the Olympic motto of Citius, Altius, Fortius (faster, higher, stronger). Hi Lene

I am new to this group, and am more impressed with the postings I read each day. Your "Following the Creed" article is excellent and so true. I am a Physical Therapist and was diagnosed with RA three years ago. With my background, I am well aware of the importance of exercise, and have been trying to follow the demands that I dished out for thirty years as a P.T.

Tomorrow, when I finish my daily walking and swimming routine I am going to build a podium in my back yard. Who knows, I may even pull that old citronella candle torch out of the basement and stomp out some "five ring" crop circles in the field next door.

Thank you for sharing your writing gift.

    Dear Lene:

Thanks for your insights. I still have the habit sometimes of silently cursing joggers as I drive by - ("those able bodied bastards, etc.") who glide along as I used to, mile after mile, with that great feeling of painless exertion. Your comments are well worth taking to heart - thanks again.

Ah, yes. Some days, it's easier than others to cope with others not having any problems (well, physical, anyway). I usually start yelling at the gods whenever I've seen a particularly fine dance performance...
