sero negative RA

  • I was just diagnosed with sero negative RA last week after months of tests trying to figure out why I keep getting sick.   I also am a carrier for MRSA which has made me think that this could be more of an infectious arthritis than RA.  But I don't have a fever and am experiencing a typical RA pattern.  Is there anyone else out there who has both of these conditions?  The rheumatologist started me on prednisone and plaxenil but I actually feel worse.  I thought the prednisone would make me feel great instantly.  I'd love to hear from anyone who has experienced anything similiar.

I'm suspicious that there may be a link between MRSA and RA.  My daughter got MRSA 5 years ago, had it treated and then had anothere boil appear 3 years ago.  Now she's been struggling with severe joint pain and tested positive for RA.  I really wonder if there is a connection.  Has anyone learned anything more about it??????

Dr., get a second and even third opinion.   I'm now taking Plaquenil and it has really helped.
