Blogging about running and how it helps my RA

By Wendy Nail Monday, February 02, 2009

I was diagnosed in 2001 with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  I was terrified and thought I would never move without pain again.  Now, 7+ years later, I am training for a Half Marathon.  My RA is under control thanks to Humira and a good fitness plan and I plan to keep it that way!  My RA story and ongoing progress is all here: http://rustedrunner.blogspot.com/  I hope my blog will give hope to others with RA and inspire them to move forward and live stronger.

I'm so jealous. I miss running.

My first flare came in 2002 when I never really recovered from my second half-marathon. I was diagnosed two years later. This last summer I was well enough to walk several miles a day and think about running again. Then I relapsed big-time. I'm on my second month of Embrel now and working back into shape. Thanks for sharing your story. It gives me hope.
