The magic of Cortisone....

By JacRad Friday, March 09, 2007

About 3-4 weeks ago we had a winter storm here in Ohio that caused significant icing to everything it touched.  Needless to say, I fell in our driveway right smack on my knees.  I had doubled my Medrol for awhile and was okay, but have gradually been getting worse over the past 2 weeks.  I saw my doctor yesterday and he gave me a Cortisone shot (systemic) and what a relief.  I haven't felt this good in a couple of months.  I was able to get right out of bed this morning with minimal stiffness and pain.  I know it won't last too incredibly long, but oh the relief during the time that it's working.

So much for that....

Hi JacRad,

I know what you mean about steroid shots.  I only had to have them a few times in a knee, after it was aspirated - which isn't a pleasant experience.  But it definitely helped get through the acute swelling and pain.

I hope you start to feel a difference with your medications soon.  My best wishes to you, and Go Bucks!  (I'm from Ohio too and went to Ohio State).
