About Me

I was diagnosed a few months after my daughter was born and she is now a year old. I had no idea what was wrong with me. I hurt all over and I was so exhausted but I figured maybe this is what it feels like to be a new mommy. I finally had enough when I cried every morning just lifting my head from my pillow. I was started on Prednisone and Azulfadine. I had a horrible allergic reaction to the Azulfidine so then was changed to Methotrexate and then Enbrel was added. I feel alot better than I did at time of diagnosis but I still have a long way to go. Before my pregnancy I was very healthy and active. I did have random symptoms of arthritis since childhood but they were always dismissed for something else. Now that I know,it all makes much more sense. Something else that my doctors think may be related to this auto immune disorder was lupus anti-coagulant disorder which caused 3 miscarriages before my daughter. It has been along hard couple of years but I think we are on the right track now. My daughter is well worth all the things that happened though. Anyway, I am glad to find I am not alone in the world of arthritis especially at my age. I look forward to the support we can offer each other.
