medicare suppiment

By ronie Wednesday, January 18, 2012

I am posting this to the Question section as well as here.  I am on Medicare. The time has come for me to choose a supplimental and a rx plan.  Can anyone out there help me decided with plan to chose?  I hear good and bad about Humana.  I don't know anything about any of the other plans.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about such plans. Have you had any feedback anywhere about this?

Ola chica! I just went through the selection process. Galv county had 33 frickin plans I got to wade through before making a decision on Medicare! So, long story short..... I ended up selecting Humana with a supplemental plan so I got the best bang for the buck on prescription coverage. It's an extra $50ish per month but it's saving me $300 overall. Humana has had some issues but has improved greatly in the last 2 years. All of my doc's but 1 are preferred providers-WOOHOO! I also went with the added dental/vision for $24 monthly, which is what I'd pay for getting the toothers cleaned and the eye balls checked any way each year so now have added coverage. Hope this feedback isn't too late to help.

Not too late.  Thank you very much.  I have friends who are on Humana and some on Amerigroup.  Amerigoup won out with $0 monthly premium and covering most of my meds at 0 although a couple have a $30 copay as they are higher Tier meds.  My Simponi is not covered but I have a Gold Card for county health care as well.  The copay for medical procedures are LOW.

My friends with Humana are actually deciding to switch over during open enrollment.

Thank you very much for you help.  I trully appreciate it.  A rep from Amerigroup will be coming to the house to explain every detail to me on Friday!!!!!  Yeah!!
