I was wondering? While taking TNF blockers can i get the flu and pneumonia shots ?

Hi, Stacy,

I take Humira and I get a flu shot every year. I had the penumonia shot last year before I started Humira. My doctor said I just cannot take vacinnations that use a live virus. I still think it is always best to check with your RD.

Hey V,

Good that you mentioned no live vaccines! Depending on where someone gets their vaccine, that could be a problem if they don't know your medical history.

Hi Stacy,

I take Enbrel. And yes, my Rheumatologist wants me to continue getting the flu shot every year. She also made sure that I had the pneumonia vaccine.

But as V said, check with your doctor. Maybe you can just call in and ask?
