does anyone know about this drug?

Hi Everyone,

I have been not feeling well. I think the metho is taking its toll cause I have NO energy at all. I have a hard time even getting up or going online... I am in pain , but this feeling of tired is hard to deal with

My sister, the one with Lupus was told she may have RA and all the test came back her Lupus is active again and she has a lung infection. So they put her on Plaquenil.

Anyone hear of this? they told her it is for Lupus and RA..I think I will try to Google it

I hope to get back into the swing of things soon

My heart goes out to you. I don't know about the drug that your sis is on but I am on Methotrexate. I can handle the pain more than I can handle the drop down tiredness. How are we to function? Am seeing a counselor but no one seems to be able to help me figure out how to keep going on and on with no energy... Saw a comercial today on TV...said Embrel helps with pain and gives energy....wonder if it is true? think Ill post a question,.....hang in there Sue.

Sue...so sorry you are having a hard time right now. Three weeks ago, I was there. I have RA. I am taking Humira, plaquenil, cymbalta, Vitamin D, and b12. My rheumy added the plaquenil three weeks ago. I take two 200 mg every day. I actually am feeling better than three weeks ago. I have not had any side effects to mention. The cymbalta also helps. My dr said it was not only for depression, but it was also for pain. It has something to do with the transmitting. Anyway, I feel much better. I could not even work three weeks ago. Hi Sue,

I'm so sorry you're not feeling good. I have RA and take methotrexate and prednisone. I sometimes feel that i'm just going to fall down i'm so tired, but then I get into bed at night and have trouble sleeping?!?! I can't figure it out. The biggest trouble I have with my RA is that I never know from hour to hour what to expect. Severe pain can come on without any warning and leave just as quickly. You and your sister are in my prayers. Where is that cure?????

hi sue,

yesterday was my 'official diagnosis'. finally!! i feel like a huge weight is lifted off my shoulders. the doc put me on Plaquenil. I'm also on Relefen. i've read the side effects on relefen and it's not for long term use, but it's only been 30 days. i'd imagine i'll get off that in the near future. anyway, my cousin who has lupus is on plaquenil and meth and she says she feels better than ever. she didn't say anything about the fatigue, but she's more positive than she's ever been. so i'm on plaq too, we'll see how it works for me. 2nd dose of plaq and so far no side effects. i don't have much trouble yet with any fatigue or anything like i've read on other posts. even the doc asked how my energy level was. anyway, hope it works for you, and for me as well. have a good day! ~Desiree
