thank you all so very much!

By Sue Saturday, February 14, 2009

I just wanted to thank each and every one of you that have come to my aid. I do not know what I would do with out all of you! :) Taking these drugs are scary, and we have each other to take them and share our stories of hope, and our fears. This is our life and I really understand that. Some day when I go to the RA doctor I will not cry when I get home. Everytime I go now it hits home that this is real, it is not going away. This is apart of my life. We all can understand that.

So once again Thank you! for being such a wonderful group pf souls :)

That is exactly how I felt when I found this site a little over a year ago. Rest assure that being able to communicate with others with RA is a heaven sent. Today I am having a rough the day but just knowing you are all out there makes it bearable. With this illness you learn to live and enjoy life in a different way but all the same. Good luck to you and do not loose hope.

I have had RA since 1997. It hit me extremely hard right out of the blue. I was active in sports, played industrial league softball, golfed 2 leagues, played church league basketball and then boom I couldn't walk. I spent 2 years in and out of Cleveland Clinic taking cortizone shots to be able to walk. Taking every medicine available at the time. I moved to Lexington, Ky. in 2001 and went to the VA Hospital. The rhematologist put me on arava and I had been taking predisone and celebrex for years. Within 3 months I was in a band playing guitar and singing. Fishing and golfing and now it is in remission and I am feeling great. I have not had any side effects so far. They keep a close watch on my kidneys and liver. So there is hope. I never want to go back to the 24-7 pain. The Dr. calls me a miracle man because the damage has also reversed.
