Serrapeptase?

By RAbites Wednesday, January 27, 2010

AKA: Serratiopeptidase & Serratia Peptidase.  Apparently it is an enzyme from the intestines of the silkworm and is a strong, natural anti inflamitory that will not cause the digestive distress commonly associated with our usual NSAID's.  It is said to be useful in the treatment of fibromyaliga, arthritis, rheumatism & multiple sclerosis.  I just stumbled upon this yesterday and am wondering if anyone has tried this or knows anything about it.

I've never heard of that. However, I can recommend that you consult a licensed naturopathic doctor., as they are experts in various forms of holistic medicine, but very qualified and can probably give you more information about this.

Hello,

I have just recently purchased serrapeptase for R/A, it does help for inflammation and pain.

I am going to the Amazon jungle next month, and will be working with a Shamon that works with plants.  I am willing to try anything just now

Wow, I don't recall getting any notices that there have been responses to my post, sorry I haven't responded sooner.

You said you had recently purchased serrapeptase, now that its been a while; how did it work out for you and are you still taking it?

Thanks!

Hi Stephen,

How did the trip go?  Did you go for the purpose of finding a new method of treatment or was that just a bonus?  And, did you find anything?

you mention in ur comment that NSAID (NON STEROID ANTINFLAMATORY DRUGS), cause digestive distress, but in my case it was worse than that. Recently my doctor gave me sulindaco (a well known nsaid) with quite terrible results, for on the second day i had a swollen tongue, strong heart palpitations, genital eritema (bloody red skin rash), and who knows what else, so i inmediately stop taking the sulindaco.

I have to say that the first day sulindaco helped me a lot, for my rheumatism symptoms disappeared almost completely, unfortunately the side effects were so bad that i will never try it again.

Sonds like you had an allergic reaction.  Doesn't it just make sense that you would find something that works and not be able to take it?!  I'm sorry.
