Happy New Year and Welcome Back, Brad!
I'm so sorry that you hurt yourself trying to have a little freedom; however, your recovery from the moped spill and adrenal crisis sounds like it's really progressing well for you.
Your contributions to the online RA community have been missed. Here's hoping you'll make up for lost time by posting a few more right away! :)
Glad you are back Brad. How did you know that your symptoms was the adrenal crisis? Have you had this before? For the last two months I have had what I called RA. They have been worst than any I have ever had. I have a high fever, nausea, vomiting, pain level a 10, can hardly walk, chills and don't feel like eatting. The last couple of months and this I am not upset about I have lost 25 pounds. Which I needed to loose. I have had RA for 12 years. I started working part time in July. Then in November I was missing so much work I had to quit. Have applied for SSDI and been denied waiting for hearing with judge. Since I have quit work I have had the two flares plus shingles. quit crying.
Be healthy, nana
I had my first Adrenal Crisis last February, started the same way, chills, nausea, vomiting, dizzyines, and huge spikes in pain levels. My bp was 210 over 130 or so, then it would drop to like 90 over 50! When my BP went up, pulse would drop and vice versa. I was taken to a local (out of town) hospital and then life starred to a major hospital CCU. 6 days in CCU and the dx of Addisons gave me time to research it for sure! Here is a great article on the symptoms and how to manage it. I have emergency Dexamethasone injections at the house, and orders to head straight to the ER if I suspect a crisis. This is nothing to mess with, it can be fatal in a large percentage of cases if not caught right away. You should be checked for it if you suspect you have it.

why is it that calamity almost always starts with "I was feeling really good, so I decided to push it a bit…"?
this week seems to be a lot about people realizing what a big difference the Internet can make to provide support, company and a few good laughs. I had my own experience in this yesterday and feel much better about my situation and myself today. I'm really sorry that your time away from the computer made you feel more isolated.
I hope this is the end of medical catastrophes for now - you've had three of them and don't all things come in threes? Now that the new year has started, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your body will turn a new leaf, too.
so glad you're back!
Hey Brad! So glad you are back. I can completely relate with you on not being able to get online. I had two carpul tunnel release surgeries in March of last year and I had a ulnar nerve anterior submuscular transposition surgery on 12-2-11 on my right arm and am going for the lleft arm surgery on 1-23-11. It feels awfully loanly when you can't post. I am just out of my right arm brace and am looking forward to getting the left arm surgery over with.
That wreck sounded awful. So glad you are ok now. Casks and braces are not fun to deal with. Plus, for some reason our bodies like to kick us when we are down with a nice sucker punch of an RA flare. Gotta love that. I hope you are doing well and that Y pool sounds wonderful. I might try some pool aerobics after my left arm heals up a bit.
Hope you have a Happy, Healthy, Fun and Pain Free 2012. :)
Hi Brad,
I knew you were in trouble when you said you were feeling good about yourself! That's AWALYS where the trouble starts with me! LOL I think we get the Lene Syndrome and feel compelled to overdo it!
I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better and got to finally use that Y memership!
I gave my bicycle away after I ran myself into my own mailbox... of course the neighbors were all out at the time...
Listen to you wife and stay away from the moped!
Ish
You are cracking my wife and I up!!!
The "mailbox" incident sounds JUST like something I would do! I gave my bike away two years ago......... you dont need to know why........
Brad
Too funny! My imagination is running wild. Hey, at least SOMETHING can run wild!
Tell Mrs. Brad hi for me.... My husband doesn't tell me "I told you so" anymore. It's worse. He gives me the whole "a self inflicted wound is the worst" speech. Thanks, but I'd rather just be laughed at!!
Have a great (and quiet) weekend!!
Ish
