For the past 2 years, I have received 6 months of asthma medications free from GlaxoSmithKline while in the Part D donut hole.  You must have spent $600 out of pocket and there is a income limit; last year it was under $28,000 for singles and $37,700 for 2.  You will need to submit copies of your tax return and medication receipts with your application.  I began receiving my medication within 2 weeks of applying.

To see which of your medications GlaxoSmithKline will supply, go to http://www.gsk-access.com/index.html.

To see if other pharmaceutical companies provide free medications in the "donut hole", check http://www.pparx.org/.  You will need to check the requirements for each company, because each program is different.  Please note that if you are on Medicaid, most companies will not provide assistance.
