wonderful post, Brad! I love your reminder about not sweating the medium stuff. You are so right - sometimes we get caught up in expectations that are not just out of our reach, but also don't really matter in the big scheme of things. What matters is to support each other and to take care of each other. Thank you for sharing you and your wife's recipe for success.
Very true Lene! I am certainly not saying we did not have bumps in the road, hard to not have some good sized pot holes with these diseases! I just think its key for couples facing this, or even patient and caregiver, to find the common ground and really work yourselves forward. It is far to easy to wallow in self pity and just stumble through life. We can still lead fruitful, fun lives if we just try!
My wife, Laurie, had successful hernia surgery today! They had to repair two hernias along her cancer surgery scar. She is in a lot of pain, but that was expected. She was admitted and I hope to have her home in a day or two. I look forward to taking care of her while she recovers, that's what we do! Take care of each other.
Brad
It is a blessing that you have each other!
I certainly feel blessed to have her in my life!
