I will be praying for you, going through this stuff without your husbands "physical" support will be hard but at least he is truly hopeful and supportive about things. You can do this...you're strong. I know you don't always feel that way but it is true. I just thank God we have great insurance...only $5.00 each for meds including Enbrel which I'm starting next month. I hope you have friends and family close by to help out when you need it. Don't be afraid to ask them, they want to be there for you. God Bless.

I am happy and sad for you.Yes for your meds its great your hubby can get a job to pay for the meds. But I am so sad for you cause the time apart is hard. There are so manyyyyyy rich people in the world, and yes the people in the third world countries are worse off, but in our country its not third world and at least we should be able to rely on our tax money to help those who cant afford the meds they need, and also have the support of their loved ones home with them as much as possible. Its hard to be....sick and alone..I hope your meds work for you. I am sad for you that he has to go away for over half your month, like I say there are just so many rich people who could make a difference but choose not to. I am happy and sad for you..sharte

    Hi Holly,

I am so sorry that your husband is leaving for that long, but try to focus on getting better and try not to get tooo stressed out because it will make you not feel well.  You are lucky that you have such a supportive husband.  I hope you get soooo much better that you and your husband will know that this was worth it.  I am fortunate that my husband has a great job with good benefits and i do not have to work.  I have been on the other side as well where I had not medical insurance and in desperate need for meds and no help from our government. I am fortunate to have such an awesome doctor that filled out paper work for me to get my meds straight from the manufacturer (it is a tax write off for them) so i was able to get my meds that way.  I truly see it as a blessing, but i do not think  that in this country people should need help and not get it.  I hope our new president helps out in that area. Keep the faith and good luck to you and your family.  keeep me posted on your progress.

Holly, I hate to hear about the meds cost and the sacrifice that it is costing you and yours. I don't know what the meds will cost me, my first apt. is still 3 weeks away but you just voiced my fear. I guess I really need to call the insurance and check!

Your husband sounds like he is really supportive and that is a great thing! It just really sucks that you have to sacrifice at all (excuse my language but nothing else seemed to fit as well : ), I will keep you in my thoughts. Have you tried contacting the manufacturers of the meds.? My sister did that with her MS meds and it helped her out alot! Just a suggestion. Take care Holly, let me know if you ever want to talk!

I just read about your struggle to pay for your meds and I, too, have been there. Please call the Healthwell foundation. It is a 501 (c) corporation that helps people who have insurance pay for meds or premiums. When I took Enbrel, they underwrote the cost of it and reimbursed me. They are wonderful and exist only to help folks. There is alot of paperwork involved but when isn't there when medicine is involved. God Bless!
