Most people have some sort of fear in their lives. Some are afraid of starting over again. Some are afraid of losing the ones they love. And then some are afraid that they won't have enough money to pay bills, or who are afraid of speaking in public.

I, too, put off using a wheelchair until it really wasn't my choice anymore. It's amazing how quickly you adapt to a "chair". I've been it one for 3 years now pretty much full-time but after tomorrows surgery I should be able to walk a little with my walker. I wont be able to cruise the mall or anything, but I can get up if I need to. You'll be amazed at how much more you'll enjoy outings again because you can go without walking in pain. The kids can even "hitch a ride" if they want to.Of course my prayer for you is that you wont need it very often, but it will be nice to have,my chair has been a life-saver.Shopping is no longer a chore but a joy again. Just make sure everywhere you go is accessible and ther'll be no stopping you!!!! Good luck and God Bless, cyndi

My love and prayers are with you.  I am an older woman with RA and I have

twin sons who are 30, fearing that one of them may have RA. He has pain

in his little hands and knees for the past five years but has been in denial.

I am praying that God will move to do something quickly.

You are totally in my prayers and I am a born again christian lady who lives

in Boston but grew up in the South.

Your story is amazing, my heart goes out to you completely. I applaud you for continuing to live your life, for having the strength to go out and ask for what you need to maintain your life.

I was diagnosed w/ RA at 24 and now, at 27, I have been pondering going to med school and my biggest fear(s) have been what will happen to my body while working towards the degree and paying for school.

After reading your post, you have given me the strength to go after my goals, using your words, "living life to its fullest." I don't want to look back on my life years from now and be angry at myself for not going after what I want to do. Even if I have to stop b/c of my RA, at least I gave it a try.

Thank you so much for posting this. This is my first time on this website and I feel like I stumbled across this to read your post, to give me the push that I needed.

I'll pray for you and know you are not alone in your RA!

    Steph
