Lyrica..whats the deal?

I have found in reading posts and paying attention at my Rheumy's office that it seems Lyrica is being prescribed to almost everyone. He has a real nice Lyrica clock hanging in his office along with notepads and of course pens. Is it normal?

So I've been on my meds for two to three months now, and I do feel a difference. I can now get out of bed in the morning. I don't have as much trouble walking. I can walk up and down stairs. You can do it! Don't give in to RA...

A recent post really jumped out at me because in it I saw myself and the struggle I had experienced when first navigating through this chronic disease (RA) we all or perhaps those we love struggle with on a minute by minute basis.
