54 years with RA

Fifty-Four Years in the Making, My RA onset story by Lyn Burnstine

I always say I got RA in 1956, when I was twenty-three, but reading some of the other stories on RA blogs of "early warning signs" years before full-fledged RA, I am more than ever convinced that the times when I had to cancel my piano lessons due to sore wrists were omens. I am a 35 year old mother to 2 young children. I hav struggled with chronic fatigue and just overall feeling sick for about 6 months now. Recently I found out that I have an elevated RA factor of 49.5. The only joints that hurt me are my left wrist and right knee with severe lower back stiffness and pain at times. I have almost constant twitching in my muscles. Some days it takes all I have to lift a gallon of milk due to weakness and burning in my muscles. I have not yet seen a Rheumatoidalogist because I don't have insurance so I have not had a diagnosis and am not being treated with anything for these symptoms so far. I do take citalapram for depression and anxiety though. pain

RA pain, how does it feel?
