There are many conditons that have similar symptoms to rheumatoid arthritis, which can make it hard to diagnose. Some of these include psoriatic arthritis, erosive inflammatory arthritis, gout and lupus, which can all present with painful, swollen joints. It's important to know the similarities and differences to help determine if you have RA or something else.
