RA patients are known to have a higher rate of depression than the general population. Concerns with lifestyle, mobility and appearance contribute to poor emotional health, and concern for the future may contribute to anxiety. Through management of emotional health, though, an RA patient can live an active, healthy lifestyle with a high quality-of-life.
