Biologics are protein-based drugs that are made from live cells. They can either be injected or taken by IV infusion. Biologics target cells (B-cell lymphocytes or T-Cells) and proteins (TNF-alpha, interleukin-6) in the immune system that cause infamation. Common biologics include Enbrel, Humira, Cimzia, Kineret and Rituxan.
