DMARD Medications

At a Glance

Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) slow the advancement of rheumatoid arthritis. They reduce inflammation and joint damage. Taking DMARDs may lead to a remission. Common DMARDs include methotrexate (Rheumatrex), sulfasalazine (azulfidine) and lefluenomide (Avara).
