I'm 49 and feel like I'm 80. I had hyperthyroidism 6 yrs ago and ended up getting the Iodine treatment. My levels are ok with Synthroid. 2 yrs after that, one of my eyes began to bulge and one started drooping. My eyes became misaligned and caused double vision. Prisms in glasses have corrected that. Still have a drooping eye. Next, I started with joint stiffness if I sat still too long or when I got up in the morning. It flared up real bad 14 mths ago. I couldn't stoop to plant my garden or get up and down steps without holding on. I was so stiff it hurt. It was on both sides of my body: ankles, wrists, fingers, elbows, knees, and my neck. It lasted 3 mths. My sed rate and anti-cardiolipin antibody were high, my WBCs and Neutophils were low and my lymphs were high. RF, Lupus, CCP,etc. were all negative. By the time I saw the Rheumatologist, the flare was over but I still had the same symptoms just not as severe. I have slight swelling in my ankles, wrists, and fingers. He told me I was getting older now and told me to wait and see if it got worse. The past month has been bad again. I'm taking Celebrex 200 mg twice/day, but it's not working. Now I'm having stabbing pains to different parts of my body. Mostly my left arm/wrist and left lower buttocks. I'm very fatigued and just lay on the couch as soon as I get home from work. Now I have nodules on both index fingers. I've had strep throat twice this yr and tonsilitis once and it's not even winter yet. I found a new Rheumatologist, but have to wait for an appt. I think it's RA. Does anyone else think so?
