Q: calcium and diarrhea

I have had diarrhea for 2 wks now. My rheumy took me off clinoril and plaquenil. I had severe vit d deficency and took 50,000 a week for 6 wks now take 1000 day.

The diarrhea has not let up any. I take max amt of immodium per day and still continues. Rheumy thinks may still be plaquenil but ive been reading that vitamin d can cause all the symptoms i am having. Thinking about stopping it for a week and see what happens..ANy suggestions? thanks

I did a quick Google search and it does indeed seem that symptoms of taking too much vitamin D can include nausea and diarrhea, so it may be worth a try. Still, I would recommend you discuss it with your doctor, as you don't want and don't having a severe vitamin D deficiency again.
