it's quite common to stop taking your RA meds when there is an infection going on, especially when those RA meds are immunosuppressants, such as methotrexate and the Biologics. The white cells that are playing up are most likely due to her infection, which means that once the infection is dealt with, she should be able to go back on her methotrexate. If this is only a week or two, it shouldn't have too much of an effect — methotrexate builds up in your body and the level can withstand a short, temporary break. However, if she starts feeling the symptoms of her RA, she should call her rheumatologist to request discuss the issue and potentially request a prescription for prednisone to bridge her.   PS please say hi to your mother from another neighbor. That is, I used to knit but can't anymore, but once a knitter, always a knitter.
