My daughter was diagnosed with JRA at the age of 22 months. She has been up and down over the years, but nothing major. From 15 on, it has been on the warpath, and there has been significant damage. She has tried humira, but it stopped working after a year. She has been on prednisone since age 17, right now 5mgs per day. Her rheumatologist put her on Enbrel, prednisone, and 15mgs of methotrexate. It didn't really work, so she upped the doseage to 4 pills a week. That combination worked, but eleveated her liver levels. She went back down to 3, and her liver levels went back to normal, so we tried the 4 pills again. Her liver levels went right back up, so she has now been taken off methotrexate. In a few short days, she has gone back to being in pain and constant fatigue. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should try? Apparently she is just one of those few that can't take this medication. The newer ones scare me. Orencia and remicaid are scary.
Thanks
