Yes, we specialize in RA, but we do have a number of people who have AS, so I'll do my best.  We are planning to have more AS content, so if you're up to it, would you mind telling me a bit about what would be helpful information for us to have?   The processes involved in healing a fracture and a joint fusing due to various forms of arthritis is due entirely to different things. A bone knitting back together is a natural healing process, whereas a joint fusing due to arthritis is very definitely not. I suspect that it was recommended that you skip Humira while you heal due to the possibility of infection -as is medication is an immunosuppressant, you would be more vulnerable to infection, with which would be a very bad idea to happen in the bone. I would definitely recommend that you contact the doctor treating your AS or your surgeon to get more information.   Good luck! Please let us know how things go?
