Most rheumatologists make a diagnosis based on your medical history and symptoms, using blood tests merely to confirm the diagnosis. The anti-CCP test is one of those blood tests. According to my research, and anti-CCP of between 0-5 is considered within the normal range, however, interpretation of your particular test should be done by your rheumatologist. In isolation, your test doesn't necessarily mean RA or no RA. Do you have symptoms that may indicate RA, such as morning stiffness, swelling in your joints, fatigue, etc.? Check our Basics of RA area to read more.
I recommend that you call your doctor to discuss the results, either by phone or in an appointment. Have you seen a rheumatologist yet or is your family doctor investigating the possibility or RA? Most family doctors don't know that blood tests should be used to confirm, not decide a diagnosis, so if you have symptoms that were you, ask for a referral to a rheumatologist.
Good luck! Please keep us posted on what happens?
