Q: Can I take my weekly injection of Enbrel if I am sick?

I have a cold, but not horribly bad, not feverish, but am wondering if I am able to take my weekly injection of Enbrel.  I thought at one time I was told not to do it if you are sick at the time.

Anyone have an answer to this?

Thanks

I would check with your dr.  I was on enbrel for 9 yrs and it can weaken your immune system.  They used to tell you not to take enbrel if you were sick but that protocol could have changed.

Drink Lots of fluids!  LOL....

Hi Laura,

I have been on Enbrel and was told that if it's an infection to not take your dose until you are better.  Best advice is to call your doctor and see what they want you to do.
