I was  and couldn't continue taking it because the side effects and was switched to Humira, which so far has worked well for me for three years. Medications work differently for different people finding the one that works for you can be a bit of a trial and error process. Hopefully, Humira will do the trick for you.

I am currently on enbrel but did take humira for  two years before that.  It just stopped working.  I have a friend who switched from enbrel to humira because the ebrel stopped working.  I was also very sick on humira with sinus infections all the time, she had the same problem with enbrel.  They both do the same thing and have the same side effects.  Some people just react to them differently to both of them.  Just remember it will take 3-4 months for you to feel it working and that goes for enbrel too.

The Biologics do carry a common side effect of upper respiratory infections (i.e., sinus infection). Check out my post on managing side effects to keep them down to a dull roar - through trial and error and some help from a licensed naturopathic doctor, I found an easy way of keeping sinus infections at bay (most of the time).  It involves drinking lots of water (to keep the mucus fluid enough to drain), lots of garlic (it has antibacterial effects) and 100% pineapple juice (in addition to the vitamin C, pineapple has an anti-inflammatory enzyme). When I feel a sinus infection coming on, I increase everything and have managed to push back sinus infections several times - I haven't taken antibiotics for two years now, despite being on Humira.
