Hi, Tudormom,

EE is a tough thing to deal with.  From what little I know of this disorder, it is often caused by food allergies. From your comments, I am thinking your daughter has gone through all of the allergy testing. Has her doctor prescribed steroid therapy for your daughter, and if so, did it help? There are treatments for EE.  If her doctor is not helping her, I would make an appointment with another doc for a second opinion.  Living with untreated EE has got to be miserable.

Blessings,

V

Thanks so very much. You are correct, EE is related to food allergies. In fact my daughter has suffered from food allergies to all diary and egg products for her entire life. ( We told the doctors five years ago that food allergies probably was a cause, and at that time, they didn't believe us.)

She has been through steroid therapy, as well as some of the other therapies. The steroid therapy did work while she was still on it, but once she stopped, her problem came back just as bad..

She is currently on a new type of gastro chrom medicine that doesn't seem to be helping.  What other treatments are you aware of.  I am looking for any new information.  Thanks

I was reading a Mayo Clinic website and they say they are actively involved in research and new therapies for eosinophilic esophagitis.  They say that in addition to standard thearpy, you may have access to experimental treatments not avaialable elsewhere.  Would going to Mayo be an option for you?
