Q: I need help !!! Frustrated!!!!!

I'm sure my RD knows how to do this, but it will help me to be prepared for my next visit. She is prescribing A new water therapy tub, the walk in kind. My insurance is BCBS of NC. I called them to find out how that works....It has to be a medical need and not a convenience need. My question is has anyone been through this or have tips for me to work it out? I really need it..... My muscles start contracting  and everything if I don't get it everyday. I've got a jetted tub but its too low and only 1 speed for the jets HARD!!!

Hi, Angie,

This is not my area of expertise.  I have not had any experience in this area...yet.  The only advice I have is to keep on them until they get tired of hearing from you and acquiesce. Wink

Best Wishes,

V

I haven't specifically apply for something like this, but... Drown them in paperwork. Getting a "prescription" from your rheumatologist is an essential part of it. You may also want to consult an occupational therapist about this and other tools that can help you feel better. An OT may also know more about the intricacies of getting what you need from your insurance company. Your rheumie or family doctor should be able to refer you to an OT.
