Constant fever

Hi  I seem to have a constant fever.  I may go half a day with out but then its back is this normal for RA?  I've had RA for about 2 years and since being on meds my joints and pains have eased off except for the odd flare up but every day I have a fever. My doc says its because my hormones are messed up by the RA but I've had my menopause years ago.  I seem to spend more time in bed resting from the fever and fatigue than I do being normal.  Is any one else experiencing this? Sometimes I think its just me and that I'm imagining it but no it really is a fever I'm hot a sweaty and cold and shaky.  Ive been in bed now for 3 days has anyone any suggestions that can help me get over this please.

the best suggestion I can give you is to get a second opinion.  if your RA is suppressed, you shouldn't have symptoms (fever is one of the symptoms of active RA). However, what concerns me more is your rheumatologist's dismissive attitude towards this.  If you're spending this much time in bed or feeling unwell to the point where it interferes with your ability to live your life, it is something that should be investigated, not just shrugged off as a hormonal thing. I would recommend that you make an appointment for a physical with your primary care physician - tell them about your symptoms and they will run appropriate tests and depending on the results of those, refer you to other doctors. At this time, you may want to ask for a referral to another rheumatologist for a second opinion.

Good luck!.  Please let me know how it goes?
