Hi all,

I've been down this road before, but here I go again: flu like symptoms, low temp., extreme fatique, lack of appetite, periodic burning in extrmeties, including fingers/toes, bottoms of feet. Was told by rheumie office to up prednisone from 5 mg. to 20 mg. In addition to the 200 mg. plaquinil I take. But I feel soooooo bad. Sooo many of my students where I teach have the H1N1. How do I know this is a flare, and not my RA and body trying to fight off the flu?? Please advise. Thank you.

I would go to my gp. The flu as you know, is nothing to play with, particularly having a weakened immune system like we have. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Thank you for your suggestion. I know, it had to be a very bad flare-up. I am somewhat better, as I think the prednisone is kicking in. What I have to do is get in touch w/the rheumie again,' cause I don't think the meds are working to their capacity. Thanks again...
