Hi Wolfgang,

Using drugstore.com as a gauge to just the retail price of medications, I looked up Simponi.  It costs approximately $5000 dollars for each 3-month supply.  That doesn't factor in what insurance rates may be though.

If you need financial assistance to pay for the drug, I believe the makers of Simponi has an assistance program. As well, check out Lisa Emrich's post on various financial assistance programs for people who need help paying for the meds.

I have been on Simponi now since July 09.  Each injection is about 1715.00, but the good news is the the manufacturer has a 100% copay card for the first six months and if you re-register for the next 6 months, it is 5.00 per month.  I am not sure what happens after that.  They are very helpful, too.

for me, being on medicare, simponi is 2300 per shot, (why so much?)

my perscription coverage is 2800 or so a year,  then i go into the donut hole until 4550 $ out of pocket is reached.       i just had to pay 430.00 out of pocket cost for my first injection.

This is just the begining...another injection next month...costing me a car payment........

the simponi company will not let me have the cost card, due to the medicare that I have.    other help that is out there for copays do not work for us, because my husband makes over the income restriction.

ugh...this is so sad, but i need the medication to fuction.
