Q: what should my cholesterol number be? I am a42 year old AA woman.

I just rec'd my labs back with a lot of numbers and I really don't know what I should be looking for. Is a cholesterol number of 148 good or bad? Also what does HDL and LDL mean? Thank you for your help.

I am not a doctor so I can't directly answer your question.  But I do know there are a lot of factors that go into what your cholersterol should be.  I have found you a wonderful health central site that tells all about cholersteral including the good, the bad, and the ugly.  It also tells what factors are involved and what is considered high and what is considered low.  Here is the link:
