Enbrel worked good for about 3-4 months but is no longer working for me. My rheumy wants to start me on Cimzia. It was approved by the FDA for RA in May, 2009. It's similar to Enbrel but stays in your system longer. Anyone use or know anything about it?

It's so new that I haven't heard much about it, but I had a vague recollection of having seen a few people talking about it on this site. Try asking your question again in a SharePost - they often get more traffic than the individual questions here, so you might have more luck that way. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

My husband has been on cimzia for a couple of months. He also has tried methotrexate, humira, embrel, and orencia. None have seemed to work for him. Cimzia is extremely expensive. Without insurance it was $5200 for a month supply. With our insurance it was still over $1000. The Dr.'s office set my husband up with the cimpay program which will help with the cost. Also mail away programs that deal with specialty drugs is also very cost effective. We have paid as much as $65 and as little as free. Good luck. Hope it works for you.
