That would depend on what tier United American lists it as. When I had Blue Cross, it was a tier 3 and not completely covered by the prescription plan (Medco) the company had. My rheumatologist had to list the shots as a home health procedure to be administered by a nurse (they actually didn't do anything except deliver the med packages once a month).. With that, the rx was paid for with a monthly $20 copay.
With Humana, the script was again Tier 3 and I paid 150 a month. The would not work with me any other way like Blue cross did.
I now have United Health, It is listed as a tier 2 and costs $50 a month but I registered with a low income program with Johnson and Johnson that cuts the price down to $10.
So check with your insurance provider and have your rheumie work with you to find the less expensive route. Without insurance the shots are $1500 a month (I understand they are weekly shots but my shots came in a 4 unit package)
