Methotrexate and liver function?

Topics:Methotrexateliver function

I was told to stop taking methotrexate after five months because of a "bad" liver function reading.  I don't drink alcohol at all.  Is it likely that the cessation of methotrexate is a temporary thing or does one poor blood test result result in a permenant avoidance?  I think the Meth was beginning to help.  Any info is appreciated.

Diagnosed almost 2 yrs ago...meds have side effects, so constantly...

i was on methotrexate for about 6 weeks and when my liver enzymes hit 170 or so, i was taken off it immediately.  during that time, i was sooooo tired and fell twice because had trouble lifting my legs.  those are the signs of liver trouble.  so, we did a sonogram on my liver and check for all hepatitis, and all came back ok.  i switched doctors and new doc said to just leave it alone and the liver will heal itself, which it did.  numbers got back to normal in less than 3 months.  it was the methotrexate.  i, too, do not drink, hardly at all.
