Q: How long did it take to feel the affect of the Humira?

I have now taken my third shot of Humira and am eagerly awaiting the results. For those of you who are on the same meds how lond was is before you felt like you might actually get your life back. I hear all these stories of people running marathons and I wonder if that will ever be me. Of course I would just be happy to go a walks and be able to walk up and down stairs at this point.

In my experience, it took about 6-8 weeks for the medication to get going in a very noticeable way. However, how fast you return to living your life again depends on how wrecked you were before you started the medication. Taking it easy and going slow once you start noticing the improvement will help you build your strength again. It will be tempting to do more than you probably should, but try not to, as it may set you back again. Work within your limits and try to have a bit of energy left over at the end of the day - it will help you build your strength and enable you to start living your life again if you don't deplete your resources completely every day.

One thing I've noticed with the Biologics is how after I started reentering my life again, I continued to improve and get stronger over time - quite a long time, actually. There've been moments recently where I realized that even two years after starting Humira, I'm still continuing to improve. It's quite the miracle drug. You have much to look forward to.
