Heel pain can be caused by one of several things, such as a bone spur or plantar fasciitis (a condition where the thick tissue on the bottom of the foot running from the toes, over the heel and up the calf gets inflammed and painflu, causing heel pain, especially first thing in the morning).  Both are very common orthopaedic problems.  It would be uncommon for heel pain to be associated with RA since RA is more likely to affect the ankle or toes.  I would recommend seeing an orthopaedist who specializes in foot and ankle pain.  He/she can diagnose the cause and recommend treatment, such as exercises, shoe inserts or splints.

Have you been checked for fibromyalgia? I have been told that RA & fibromyalgia run together some times. I am finding that not all my pain is due to RA, some of it is the fibromyalgia.

Yahoo pantethine and b complex for pain in the heal. Read about it. Also vit e d alpha and iodized salt.  Yahoo iodized salt deficiency you will be very surprized.  I was.  I use borax sit bath 1/2 cup and wash with borax before bed. It makes me sleep well.  It sounds like you may have exhausted adrenals. Yahoo that too. Check out food cures, earthclinic.com  look for Ted. Also a book called Lets Get Well on amazon.com Good luck
