Anyone have itching and hives from using simponi?

Started taking simponi in September 2009 and did very well.  About a month after taking simponi I broke out in hives, rashes along with itching.  Doctors prescribed prednisone and bendryl (?) to take along with my next dose of simponi for 3 consecutive days.  I took my second injection today along with the prednisone and bendryl today.  We'll see what happens.  I did not have a reaction the first time for about a month.  Has anyone had an experience like mine?

We don't seem to have a lot of users who are on Simponi, but I would recommend you try asking this question again in the SharePost, as they usually get more traffic than the individual questions in this area.

That said, hives, rashes and itching seems to be a fairly normal side effect off the Biologics. I've been on Enbrel and am now on Humira and I find that every time I take the medication, I spend a couple of days with an increased histamine response. As well, when I was on Enbrel, I got a lot of rashes. As long as it doesn't progress to a more serious allergic response, it sounds as if you doctor is dealing appropriately with the symptoms and hopefully you'll continue to tolerate Simponi well.
