I have no idea, but I'm not a medical professional - none of us who answer questions here are doctors, but answer based on our own experience and the knowledge we've managed pick up. You should ask your rheumatologist, as they are more likely to be up on the latest research.

I HAVE HAD 13 SURGERIES FROM MY ANKLE FROM A CARE WRECK , KNEE, OPEN CHOLECYSTECTOMY, GASTRIC BYPASS AND HAD A PE, A LEAK INTO MY GUT AND, AN ILEUS AND A LEAKAGE OF FOOD INTO MY GUT. THEN I HAD A COMPLETE HYSTERECTOMY AND A TUMMY TUCK. I HAVE BEEN CUT FROM SIDE TO SIDE EXCEPT FOR EXCEPT FOR ABOUT 3 INCHES IN THE BACK AND FROM MY STERNUM TO MY PELVIC BONE. THEY WERE ALL TRYING BUT THE WORST TOOK NO LONGER TO RECOVER FROM THAN 6 WEEKS. 2 MONTHS AGO I HAD AND ARTHROSCOPY OF MY LEFT THUMB (THANK GOD I AM RIGHT HANDED) HAD COMPARTMENT SYDROME, WHICH HAS SUBSIDED AND THIS IS STILL THE WORST MOST PAINFUL SURGERY EVER. DON'T HAVE IT UNLESS YOU DR IS COMPLETELY SURE YOU NEED IT. GET A SECOND OPINION. iF YOU ARE HAVING PAIN YOU CAN LIVE WITH NOW....USE BENGAY, TAKE IBUPROFUN, TYLENOL. USE A HEATING PAD. THIS IS A VERY PAINFUL HEALING PROCESS. i AM 2 MONTHS OUT AND MY HAND IS SO WEAK i CAN'T PICK UP A PEN.
