Q: How do you treat RA and Hep C if you have had ovarian cancer?

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2006 and went through chemotharapy using Taxitier and Cysplatin. I am 45 yrs old. Then two years and a doctor change I was told my Rheumatiod factor was 183. I was then sent to a rheumatologist who did blood work and found Hepatitis C. Well I soon found a Doctor for that and am now waiting on results of the liver biopsy. As you can imagine I am truly worried about my life expectancy and if this can be taken care of with my cancer history.

wow, you really have been put through the wringer! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this.

The people who answer questions in this section are not doctors - we answer based on our experience and whatever knowledge we've managed to pick up.  Some questions about fast of a doctor and I'm sorry to say that this is one of them. When your health issues are as complex as yours, you need an expert, not a layperson with a smattering of knowledge. The best I can recommend to you is to get your medical team working closely together, connecting your rheumatologist with the doctors monitoring you for the cancer and hepatitis. The better they work together, the better your chances of hopefully finding a treatment that won't increase your chances of a recurrence of the cancer. You may also want to talk to a licensed naturopathic doctor - I've found them incredibly helpful in terms of strengthening my core health.

Best of luck. Please tell us how things go?
