Hi Berneta,

Sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with RA.  I hope you and your doctor can find a way to make things easier for you.

Many drugs are individually helpful, but can interact with another drug and cause problems and experts in the field are much better equipped to know of potential interactions.  The best person to answer your question in a reliable way is your doctor or pharmacist.  If you have severe pain, they may also be able to recommend a medication that would have the desired effect.

I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.

The problem with taking some of the medications for rheumatoid arthritis is that they can be tough on your liver.  I have rheumatoid arthritis as well and have been instructed by my rheumatologist to not take tylenol as it can be harsh on my liver which may not be good in combination with your other medications.  That being said, give your rheumatologist a call.  They should be able to tell you over the phone after looking at your chart which over the counter medication would be a good choice for your.  Please let your doctor know the intensity of your pain, as they may want to prescribe something for your pain as well.  Dealing with the pain that comes with RA can be very tough and sometimes intolerable.  Make sure you discuss this issue with your doctor. In the meantime heating pads and hot baths help me a lot.  The don't provide long-term relief, but they may be an option for you.  I hope for relief for you soon!  Good luck and best wishes!
