I had an injury several months ago involving a pinched nerve in my elbow, causing pain, tingling and numbness in my hand and it's very unnerving to have sensation change like that. In answer to your question, unfortunately there is no gentle way of saying this and I apologize for being blunt. No, it's not normal. It could be a pinched nerve like I had or something else entirely. You should make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible so you can find out what's going on and start treating it.

Good luck and please tell us what your doctor says.
