Would RA alone allow your wbc to be continuously low?
I was diagnosed with RA in January of this year. My RA dr. discovered that my wbc had been low for approx. 3 years and sent me to an oncologist. After a bone marrow biopsy, and vigorous blood tests, they have decided that I have a Lymphoproliferative disorder. What exactly does that mean? I don't seem to get a laymans answer. My wbc has been form 2.7-4.6. Usually running on the below 3.5 range. I have recently started Orencia, having just completed my second infusion. Blood work has shown after my first infusion that my rbc has decreased some. Just gets so frustrating.......
to be honest, I simply don't know enough about this to be of any use to you. Aside from suggesting that you Google it, I would recommend going back to your doctor and ask more questions. If they start speaking in doctorese, tell them very politely that you don't understand the jargon and need them to explain it in regular English. Your doctor gets paid to provide your medical care and part of that is to make sure you understand what's going on in your body.
